South Dakota capitol's flags to be half-staff for former lawmaker

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff at the State Capitol on Tuesday.

Flags will be lowered to half-staff in honor of former South Dakota legislator John Sears, 68, who died Tuesday, February 5, at his home in Reno, Nevada.

Sears is originally from Rapid City. He served in the South Dakota House of Representatives from 1985-1996. A memorial service for Sears is being held in Reno on Tuesday, February 12.
