FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Blizzard conditions persist in much of the eastern Dakotas, snarling traffic and shutting down schools, offices and businesses.

Blizzard warnings posted by the National Weather Service have continued into Monday morning in central and northeastern South Dakota and southeastern North Dakota. Winter weather advisories remain posted for other parts of the region.

The storm that hit over the weekend dumped a foot or more of snow in some areas. Many schools called off classes or scheduled them to begin late on Monday. Valley City State University in North Dakota and Presentation College in the South Dakota city of Aberdeen closed their campuses Monday.
