Posted: Updated:

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Department of Transportation officials announce Interstate 29 between Sioux Falls and Watertown is now open.

At this time, I-29 remains closed from Watertown, S.D. to Fargo, North Dakota.

Interstate 90 was opened earlier this morning.

Motorists are reminded that highways in central and eastern South Dakota are snow-packed, ice-covered and slippery. There are also areas of blowing and drifting snow and drivers are being asked to slow down and drive with extreme caution.

Clean-up work continues and travelers are reminded to give snowplows plenty of room to work.
