RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - The last of 3 people accused of selling counterfeit T-shirts, caps and other items in several stores in western South Dakota's Black Hills has pleaded guilty to violating federal trademark laws.
The Rapid City Journal reports that 54-year-old Florida resident Nir Giist entered his plea last week. Two Rapid City residents - 34-year-old Ravaye Meltzer and 28-year-old Bar Braver - pleaded guilty last summer to trafficking in stolen merchandise.
Authorities say corporations run by the suspects sold legitimate and counterfeit merchandise at stores in Keystone, Hill City, Deadwood, Sturgis and Rapid City, between February 2010 and August 2011.
Prosecutors have agreed to recommend probation and in Giist's case, restitution. Meltzer and Braver must forfeit cash seized by authorities.
