Aberdeen Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for counterfeit five dollar bills.
Counterfeit five dollar bills were passed in two different convenience stores in Aberdeen. The bills have different individual serial numbers but can be detected as counterfeit because they do not have the security watermark within the paper. Also, when a counterfeit bill detecting pen is used on the bill it reacts as a counterfeit.
There are no suspects in the reported incidents. Business owners should report suspicious bills to law enforcement as they are detected.
