Posted: Updated:

Late Thursday night, Sioux Falls Police released new information concerning today's fatal crash at 41st Street and Minnesota Avenue.

Police now say a total of seven vehicles were involved in the crash and that the person killed was the driver of one of those vehicles.

Police say a 1998 Chevy Blazer was headed northbound on Minnesota Avenue at a high rate of speed when it hit a 2001 Dodge Durango with five people inside. The Durango then hit a 1991 Chevy pick-up with one person inside. That pick-up then hit a 1998 Buick Century with one person inside. That Buick then hit two vehicles, a 2012 Ford pick-up and a 1996 Chevy minivan.

The person killed was the driver of the 1998 Chevy Blazer. Following the initial collision, the Blazer veered into the parking lot of the Taylor's Pantry gas station....struck a sign, then struck a parked Chrysler minivan before coming to rest upside down near some gas tanks.

Of the six people who were injured, Sioux Falls Police say all had non-life threatening injuries.
