Wiener dog races held at Stampede Game

It was off to the races at the Saturday night Sioux Falls Stampede Game, in Sioux Falls.

The 6th Annual Wiener Dog Races at the game is one of the biggest events for the Dakota Dachshund Rescue.

Two races were held with more than 40 dogs participating. There were several events which included a showcase of adoptable dogs and costume contest for the best dressed. The prize went to Oscar The Grouch who sat in a small garbage can.

KSFY's Nancy Naeve Brown is proud mommy of Lucy, who won one of the two races held, Saturday night! Penny edged out Lucy by just a paw in the championship race. A video replay determined the winner in the closest finish in the six years of the contest.
