The average prices per gallon of gasoline in Sioux Falls has risen almost 18 cents in past week.
The average gasoline prices in Sioux Falls have risen to $3.77 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com's survey of 101 gas outlets in Sioux Falls. The national average price per gallon of gas has increased 11.9 cents in the last week to $3.68.
"Los Angeles has climbed to $4.28 per gallon with a 55-cent average price increase in the past month, and that rate was surpassed in Chicago ($4.09 average price) and Detroit ($3.86 per gallon average), where motorists saw 63- and 64-cent respective increases over the same period. New York crossed the $4 threshold too," GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Gregg Laskoski stated in a news release.
Laskoski says the increases are likely to continue following double-digit increases in wholesale prices with fuel production tightening in the majority of the country's refineries.
AAA's list of average prices per gallon of gas for South Dakota are expected to be released later this week.
