A blizzard warning has been issued in Northeast South Dakota until 9:00 pm Monday evening.
Gusty winds are expected to continue across the region through Monday. The wind in combination with light snow and snow showers are expected to decrease visibility, especially over the Glacial Lakes and Sisseton Hills of Northeast South Dakota.
Travel will likely be hazardous due to blowing and drifting snow with reduced visibility. Roads will likely become slippery in spots as well.
A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. These conditions will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel extremely dangerous.
Do not travel in that area if you must travel. Have a winter survival kit with you and stay with your vehicle if you get stranded.
