Gas prices continue on 32-day climb

Posted: Updated:

We probably don't have to tell you this one: gas prices are on the rise and they show no sign of slowing down. AAA reports gas prices have risen for 32 straight days. Nationally, the average is $3.73 for a gallon of regular...in Hawaii, the most expensive state to buy gas, a gallon is running about $4.29. and the cheapest place to buy gas is our neighbor to the west - Wyoming, where regular is $3.17 per gallon.

According to gasbuddy.com, our region is hovering right around that national average...Minnesota is paying the most at $3.75 a gallon...in Iowa, folks are paying a few cents less at $3.71...and here in South Dakota, a gallon of regular is going for $3.57...

Breaking it down by city - folks in Sioux Falls are paying $3.75 for regular...with both Aberdeen and Pierre paying a little less - a rarity - at around $3.69 per gallon.

Experts say - with the price of crude oil rising, and refineries typically shutting down for maintenance this time of year, the upward trend is expected to continue.
