Deuel's Wiekamp Named KSFY/Taco John's Athlete of the Week - KSFY News - Sioux Falls, SD News, Weather, Sports

        Our KSFY/Taco John's Athlete of the Week wrapped up one of the great high school athletic careers in South Dakota history this past weekend at the state gymnastics meet in Rapid City.

       Deuel senior Sam Wiekamp won 19 individual state titles in six years competing on the varsity.

     That's the most individual titles of any athlete ever from any sport.

    Wiekamp also won the vault a state record six times in her career and helped lead Deuel to three consecutive Class A state team titles.

    For that performance, and an amazing career, we salute Deuel's Sam Weikamp as our KSFY/Taco John's Athlete of the Week.
