Winter Storm wallops people from Arizona to South Dakota

Posted: Updated:

Though South Dakota is seeing its fair share of snow, we're far from the only one's getting hit by this storm.

As we said earlier, at least 20 states are under winter weather watches and warnings.

Some places could see as much as 20 inches of snow before this system moves across the country.

Even a state known for snow birds wasn't immune to this system.

The Dove Mountain Golf Course just north of Tucson looked like a winter wonderland.

So much so that the first round of the WGC Accenture match play championship was canceled.

The same system brought a mixture of snow, sleet and rain to parts of Oklahoma.

Right now there's still a winter weather advisory in the state.

The National Weather Service expects things to clear up later tonight.

Wichita, Kansas experienced a rare occurrence of thundersnow early this morning.

That city saw 10 inches of snow.

Kansas has seen the brunt of this storm... schools are closed and interstates are shutdown.

In Nebraska, some residents woke up to about a half foot of snow this morning.

Many schools and businesses are shut down there as well.

Forecasters say another round of snow come hit Sunday night.
