Fresh snowfall is welcome sight at Great Bear

Posted: Updated:

Many of us may have enjoyed the somewhat mild winter we've had.

Others wish we had just a little bit more snow.

At Great Bear Recreation Park, skiers are taking advantage of some man-made snow.

As you can see -- we've got a few skiers on the slopes right now.

Driving up to Great Bear -- it looks dry and brown but once you get here -- the hills are snowy and white.

Great Bear's ski season is from December through March.

We've had a bit of a mild winter this year but that hasn't stopped some skiers from coming out to enjoy the snow.

Great Bear general manager Dan Grider tells us even they can make their own snow -- a little snow from mother nature would be good for business. "It's gotten a little bit slow here in February. December and January were great. And then we got into some of those rainstorms that didn't help us out a bit.  Things have slowed down a lot at the end of the season and I think a show to snow would perk it right back up again."

Grider tells me he hopes they can extend the ski season through mid-March.

He also says he has a lot of faith in our weather team who are predicting some much needed snowflakes for them tonight.
