Thursday and Friday made for tough travel days on the interstates in the midwest. We met a few truck drivers who say if the job pays and the interstates are open, there's not much that can stop them.
Dozens stopped to fuel up and rest at the BP Gas Station along I-29 at the Vermillion exit. Stuart Harms is one of them who started his travel, Thursday, in Kansas.
"Woke up in the morning, there was about 12-18 inches of snow on the ground. Drove empty from there to Kansas City and took most of the day. Roads were bad, snow-packed," Stuart Harms said.
Like many truck drivers who have spent almost four decades on the road, a little snow is nothing.
"I've been doing it long enough that I don't think about my driving. I can feel the truck and what it's doing. I have to watch for everyone else," Harms said.
He says defensive driving is key and hopes people won't get out on any slick roads unless they have to.
