Reminder to remove snow and ice from sidewalks

Posted: Updated:

Sioux Falls, South Dakota: In conjunction with the recent snowfall event, the city of Sioux Falls encourages all residents to clear their sidewalks of snow and ice. City ordinance allows 48 hours to clear sidewalks following each snowfall or ice accumulation event.

Every citizen plays a vital role in keeping our city mobile. Your efforts ensure our sidewalks are usable year-round for those who need them.

Noncompliant Sidewalks:  The city will be taking down addressed for neglected sidewalks through the automated Sidewalk Snow Hotline beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013, at 367-8171

Assistance Program: Eligible persons must live within the Sioux Falls city limits, must be elderly or disabled and unable to afford to pay someone to shovel their walks, or have no other means of getting the snow shoveled (ex: family, neighbor).
