Pavilion Spotlight: Lord of the Dance

Posted: Updated:

For six years it was Louise Connolly's life, touring North America, South America, and Australia.

"It's in my blood, I guess," said Connolly.

A two-time World Champion Irish Dancer and the former lead in "Lord of the Dance", Connolly now lives in Sioux Falls.

"I just missed it so much, I hated not being around the Irish dance scene, so I decided to open the Connolly Irish School of Dance here in Sioux Falls," she said.

In a year and a half, Connolly's school is flourishing with 65 students. She's the only Irish dance teacher in South Dakota.

"I'm very excited for my students to see what I was involved in before I started my Irish Dance school here in Sioux Falls."

Dancing since she was eight, Connolly credits dance with showing her the world and now experiencing it through her students' eyes.

She says "Lord of the Dance" is a show everyone should see.

"Your feet won't sit still. The energy coming from the dancers on the stage, the music, everything about the show was amazing."

"Lord of the Dance" will be at the Washington Pavilion Thursday, February 28th. For ticket information, click here:
