The City of Sioux Falls will start taking complaints for neglected sidewalks starting at 8:00 Monday morning.
A City ordinance allows 48 hours to clear sidewalks following each snowfall or ice accumulation event. The City of Sioux Falls will begin taking addresses for neglected sidewalks through the automated Sidewalk Snow Hotline beginning at 8:00am on Monday. The hotline number is 367-8171.
The City says the Scoop It program is available to low-income and disabled or elderly people who are unable to shovel their own snow. Eligible persons must live within the Sioux Falls city limits, must be elderly or disabled and unable to afford to pay someone to shovel their walks, or have no other means of getting the snow shoveled. The City says you can call 211 or 339-4357 for more information.
