ATF re-announces reward for info regarding Canton bomb incident
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives St. Paul Field Division is seeking information about an incident that involved an explosive device in Canton last summer.
On July 8, the Canton Police Department responded to a call at 530 West 3rd Street, Lot #10 in Canton. There was a report of an explosive device found outside the residence.
ATF and the Sioux Falls Police Department Bomb Squad conducted a scene examination and determined that an incendiary improvised explosive device (IED) recovered at the back of the residence failed to explode—but it was a live device.
ATF Special Agent Scott D. Sweetow re-announced an award of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the attempted bombing of a residence in Canton.
Investigators are seeking the public's help in solving this crime and are hopeful that the reward will provide additional leads in the investigation.
Anyone having information about the incident should call the following offices:
ATF Sioux Falls Field Office at (605) 782-8200, or the Canton Police Department at (605) 987-5612.
More information about ATF and its programs is available at www.atf.gov.
