Investigators in Brookings County say thousands of dollars in damage has been done to a community by something typically used for sport.
31 houses in Volga and several more in Brookings, plus a couple cars, have been shot up with paintball guns.
"They hit it five times. Four here, and one off to the side, and two on the passenger door," C.T. Hosmer had his white jeep hit with orange paint, and says he wasn't alone. "Than our neighbor's house, Randy, and our neighbor, Bob."
After seeing yellow paint on her school's front door, Dawn Lucas, a kindergarten teacher at Volga Christian, added a new job title to her resume on Monday, janitor.
"I got Windex at first and wiped it off quick and now today I'm trying to get the rest of it off."
While Hosmer and Lucas don't think their damages will cost much, they would have appreciated a little elbow grease and extra bucket of soap to help with the mess.
"They should have responsibility to clean it up," Hosmer said.
The Brookings Police Department is looking for any information possible.
