The South Dakota Business Industry Government Job Fair hosted at one-stop shop for employers and potential employees again this year.
The job fair was at the Sioux Falls Convention Center on Tuesday. Many state, regional and national employers attended the job fair. According to a news release from the South Dakota Association of College Career Centers, employers at the job fair were primarily seeking candidates with or pursing college or technical school degrees.
"This is an amazing opportunity for employers and employees to find each other in one place," said Megan Mentzel, Human Resources and Career Services Coordinator at Mitchell Technical Institute.
Mentzel served as the chair of the candidate relations committee for the BIG job fair through the South Dakota Association of College Career Centers. She says there is something for everyone at the BIG job fair.
"The BIG job fair has provided over 20 years of services to the tri-state area. Some of the employers will be recruiting for national positions—the will send their local office to recruit for Minneapolis or Dallas; and then there are smaller, hometown businesses who take this opportunity to find local professionals to stay local," Mentzel said in a news release.
