Area athletes will soon have another option.
Today the Avera Sports Institute announced a new partnership with Warwick Workouts, along with a new basketball facility and training program for all age levels.
The big announcement today was that Avera plans to build a new 17,000 square foot facility in southern Sioux Falls that will have two college regulation size basketball courts.
That announcement was made this morning. It will be located at 85th and Minnesota. It's scheduled to open in July.
Castlewood native and former Northern State basketball standout Shane Warwick is playing a big role in this. For the past 10 years he's run "Warwick Workouts" in Rapid City; a basketball training program which works with young kids up to pro players and now Warwick says that program is coming to Sioux Falls. "By working with Avera...we have the same mission...and by having our own facility...it gives us more opportunity to work more athletes in the area."
The new facility will also have four regulation sized volleyball courts.
