On Wednesday, the South Dakota Special Olympic Committee is taking on the challenge of "Spreading the Word to End the Word". This national campaign is to stop people from using the word retarded. Every high school in Sioux Falls and many in the surrounding areas will all have the opportunity to pledge to stop using the "R" word along with more than 20 local businesses. Jessica Kerher is with the SD Special Olympic Committee. She along with Roosevelt High School Junior Tanner Hennings stopped by the KSFY Morning News to talk about why it's important to stop using the "R" word.
