Mitchell woman gets jail for not submitting sales taxes

MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - A corporate officer with a Mitchell cleaning business has been sentenced to about three months in jail and three years of probation for failing to submit sales taxes in 2007.

Forty-three-year-old Kelly Sterk with Servicemaster by Sterk Inc. must also pay more than $39,000 in restitution, along with a $750 fine.

Sterk will be able to keep the felony conviction off her record if she complies with all of the terms of her sentence.
