Minnesota seniors to become majority in seven years

Minnesota is heading toward a significant milestone.

Soon more of its residents will be senior citizens than school-aged.

Today, a state demographer told lawmakers Minnesota is on course to reach that point in seven years.

Tracking trends like this are important because they suggest where future budget pressures lie.
