Midcontinent may be interested in buying Knology

A major cable provider could be buying out the competition.

Midcontinent Communications is entering talks to purchase the internet and cable provider Knology.

Midco spokesperson Tom Simmons says those talks are all preliminary.

Last year, Denver-based internet provider-- Wow- purchased Knology for $1.5 billion.
