Feast of Great Chefs

Posted: Updated:

You can get a great meal this weekend and help a great cause all at the same time. It is the annual Feast of Great Chefs Event, and it is all to benefit the National Kidney Foundation.

Dozens of chefs from across the Sioux Empire will be making appetizers for over 300 guests to sample. Todd Burns from the Carnaval Brazilian Grill, which is one of the participating restaurants, stopped by the KSFY Morning News to talk with Shawn and Nancy about the event.

The money raised at the event is used to fund South Dakota kidney health screenings, a toll-free patient assistance hotline, peer to peer mentor programs, patient and professional education, organ donation advocacy and more.

Currently, there are 26 million Americans who are affected by kidney disease and another 73 million who are at risk. More than 1,000 people have kidney failure in South Dakota and almost 300 are waiting for life-saving kidney transplants.

The event starts at 4:00 p.m. and goes until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10th at the Callaway Event Center. Tickets are $75 per person. You can purchase tickets by calling 1-800-596-7943.
