JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) - Half of the six teams from the Dakotas who made the NAIA Division II men's and women's basketball tournaments are going home.
The Valley City State men's team on Wednesday lost 75-72 to Indiana University Southeast at the national tournament in Point Lookout, Mo.
In the women's tournament in Sioux City, Iowa, Bethel defeated Valley City State 73-69, and Northwestern of Iowa downed Mayville State 92-66.
Three more Dakotas teams play their first-round games Thursday: the Jamestown College men's and women's teams and the Dakota State men's team.
