More than 40,000 people are expected into Sioux Falls for the 5th annual Summit League Tournament at the Arena, this weekend.

Signs are going up all over the Sheraton Hotel lobby and guest goody bags are being filled.

It's time for the 5th annual Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls.

"We look forward to it all year long. It will make our March so the activity that will go on in the hotel, with the food stations, beer stations, activity, the coaches and administrators. it's going to be a very fun weekend," Sheraton General Manager Karen Masterson said.

To be fun, hotel leaders Annette Mahone and Karen Masterson say it will be 'all hands on deck' for their staff. They'll need all the help they can get because, according to Sioux Falls Sports Authority Executive Director, this city is about to get a major boost.

"It's one of the premier events in Sioux Falls. In the winter, to bring in 40,000 people, they're bringing money, staying in hotels, spending money at restaurants. Economically, it has a big boost to the economy," Sports Authority Executive Director Wes Hall said.

Making this weekend an enjoyable one for the guests is the Sheraton's top priority.

"We have to keep our staff engaged so they can keep our guests engaged. There's a lot of excitement in the air when you walk into this hotel, tomorrow morning. You'll see it, you'll feel it. We welcome everyone to Sioux Falls and hope they have a great time during this tournament," Masterson said.

Rooms at the Sheraton Hotel are almost booked but there are still some available. You're encouraged to get your rooms and tickets before the weekend while they're both going fast.
