The 54th Annual Sioux Empire Home Show will be at the Sioux Falls Convention Center from March 8th through March 10th. The Home Show is sponsored by the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire. Doors will be open Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
Admission is $7 for adults, and children 12 and under are free. On Friday admission is $6 for seniors. You can also buy a weekend pass for $10. Advanced tickets are sold at Lewis Drug for $6.
Around 10,000 people come to the show every year. The first show was held in 1959 with over 100 exhibitors and admission of $.50. Over 200 home related exhibits featuring new products and services for both newly constructed homes and do it yourself projects will be on hand. You also get a chance to speak with experts one on one to find out their advice for what might work best for you, for your remodel job at home. These are great people to talk with especially if you are trying to stick to a specific budget for a remodel project.
There will also be free workshops throughout the weekend in Meeting Rooms 1 and 2. Experts will talk about replacement windows, tax credits, financing, home staging, and much more.
Local chefs and bakers will also be giving free cooking demonstrations on Friday and Saturday in Meeting Room 2. The Chefs are from CH Patisserie, Oh My Cupcakes, Carnaval Brazilian Grill, Johnny Carino's, and the South Dakota Beef Council.
The Chef of CH Patisserie is World Champion Pastry Chef Chris Hanmer. Chef Chris was the winner of Top Chef: Just Desserts, Season 2. He's also the Executive Pastry Chef at the Ritz-Carlton in Lake Las Vegas. He's also developing The School of Pastry Design in Las Vegas, NV. He currently calls Sioux Falls his family's home and is excited to be opening a new restaurant in downtown Sioux Falls this spring. It will be called CH Patisserie.
Join the KSFY Morning News live at the Sioux Empire Home Show from 5:00am - 7:00am Friday morning. Chef Chris Hanmer will be talking to us live at 6:30.
