An estimated 60 million Americans suffer from allergies ever year, with those numbers, health professionals at the Sioux Falls Sam's Club hosted free allergy and health screenings in the pharmacy to help make a change.
Screenings included testing for the most common of allergies, along with blood pressure, vision and body mass index.
The idea was to get people in control of their own health, helping them identify any allergies and provide them with information for treatment and prevention.
"We have found out that on average 2 million school days are missed a year, and 4 million work days. We're trying to not only treat those allergies but prevent them so people can get back to school and work," Jamie Tooley said.
The screenings were valued at more than 200 dollars.
Sam's Club holds these free events on the second Saturday of every month. Both club members and non members are welcome.
