Walmart has a new development plan for what could be a third store in South Dakota's biggest city, but exactly what is planned is being kept under wraps.
Walmart representatives are about to make a big announcement with the mayor tomorrow morning.
We contacted city leaders today who didn't want to spoil the surprise, so we caught up with some Walmart shoppers to let them weigh in.
A year ago, neighbors on the south side of the city fought plans to build a third store in this empty field.
City councilors rejected the rezoning proposal because of health and safety concerns.
Fast forward a year, Walmart has it's eyes on more development for the city.
Some shoppers believe Walmart could announce its plans for a third store, while others think we have enough.
Tracey Helgeson said "I'm hoping it's for another Walmart in town because it thins out the crowds at the ones we currently have, so it makes getting around inside them a little bit easier, finding parking better, when it's cold like it is today."
Dave Woods said "I think that it might be a little much, there are other smaller businesses that need to have their opportunities and not monopolize all the stores and that two Walmarts should be good enough for the town."
Exactly what is in store for Sioux Falls is yet to be revealed.
Shoppers are excited to find out what the announcement will be and even more important, where it will be located.
We also asked on our Facebook page what you think of Walmart's big announcement tomorrow.
Cindy Bonnewell Kennedy said "a third store would possible cut down traffic."
Susan Becker said "I hope they put it on the north part of town."
