USD and SDSU play in Summit League Championship Tuesday

Posted: Updated:

Thousands of people have been filling the Sioux Falls Arena over the past few days to watch some fantastic basketball match ups. The Sports Authority tells us they are 3,300 tickets a head of where they were last year at this point. Also when all-session passes went on sale for next year last Friday, 1700 were sold in the first hour. If you are looking for tickets to Tuesday's games, you may be out of luck. The Men's final is sold out and as of Monday night very few tickets were left for the women's final.

The top seed South Dakota State Men's basketball team took on 5th seed Fort Wayne Monday night in the semifinals of the Summit League Tournament. The Jacks get a second straight double digit win in the tournament and are going to the championship. They came out on top 72-56.

The Jacks will take on North Dakota State. NDSU beat Western Illinois Monday night in the semifinals. The NDSU Bison won 55 43. The Jacks and Bison play at 8pm Tuesday night, live on ESPN 2.

In the women's semifinals. The Jacks took on Indiana Purdue University at Fort Wayne in the first semi. SDSU is moving to the Summit League Title game again and is one win away from their 5th straight NCAA tourney berth. They won 86-59.

Now the Jacks will take on USD who beat IUPUI Monday night. A 82-72 win by USD set up an all South Dakota final. The USD women will take on SDSU at 2:30 on Tuesday afternoon. SDSU beat USD twice during the regular season in close games. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN-U.
