Sanford's Child Service office now includes a Safety Store which has everything a parent needs to know when it comes to keeping kids safe.
The Child Service office is located at 1115 W. 41st Street in Sioux Falls. The new Safety Store has everything ranging from childproofing to car seats. Experts at the store say many child injuries are preventable. The store is set up with dedicated stations, demonstrating how best to child safety proof typical rooms found in any home. The Safety Center features kitchen safety, bathroom safety, bedroom safety, outdoor safety, water safety, choking hazards, safe sleep/crib safety, and safety recalls.
Organizers say the new Safety Center is a first for the region and will serve as a resource for parents and caregivers to get the education they need in a hands-on environment. They say being able to buy items dedicated to children's safety and to see exactly how those items work before heading home, is invaluable for families and children.
The Safety Center is funded by Sanford Children's CHILD Services as well as funding through the Kohl's Cares Grant.
