Search underway for missing state prison inmate

A search is underway for a missing state prison inmate.

Travis Thorngren walked away from the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls Monday evening.

Thorngren, age 30, is a white male. He is 5'10" tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Thorngren is serving a 5 year sentence for Grand Theft out of Lincoln County.

Anyone who sees Thorngren or knows of his whereabouts should contact law enforcement immediately.
