Funeral services set for Falls Park hero, victim

A funeral service has been set for a man who died trying to save a young boy in the Big Sioux River at Falls Park.

Lyle Eagle Tail died trying to save 6-year-old Garrett Wallace, of Vermillion, after the boy vanished at Falls Park in Sioux Falls last Thursday. Wallace was saved but his sister, 16-year-old Madison Wallace, also died in the effort to save his life.

A family member of Eagle Tail tells KSFY News a wake for Lyle is being held Friday and the funeral is being held Saturday. Both the wake and the funeral are at Mother Butler Center in Rapid City.
