Bond remains at $50,000 for the Watertown man accused of murdering a 14-month-old girl.
Jay Barse, 25, was arrested last Wednesday on an aggravated battery charge after police responded to a report of an unconscious child at his home. He was also charged with second-degree murder. The child was 14-month-old Serenity Seaboy.
Seaboy was taken to a Watertown hospital that day and then airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital where she died from head trauma.
Barse appeared in court on Tuesday. The judge kept the bond at $50,000 cash and set Barse's next hearing for April 2 at 1:30. Barse also sign a waiver of extradition.
The judge ordered that Barse should have no contact with immediate family, the Seaboy's mother, sister or grandmother.
