Children's Miracle Network benefits from dance marathon

Posted: Updated:

In Vermillion, it was a dance party all day and all night.

We caught the participants taking a little breather for lunch and games.

The University of South Dakota was holding it's annual dance marathon to benefit the Children's Miracle Network.

Participants partake in various dance activities while they learn about where the money raised will go.

it's a 24 hour marathon that started around 9 Saturday morning and is expected to end around 9 am Sunday.

"We're saving lives, a lot of them, there's no way to support them unless they have the support of the Children's Miracle Network. It's just 24 hours for us, in reality it's their whole lives. So it's just one day compared to their whole lives."

Organizers hope to raise 60,000 dollars from the event this year, that would be 20 percent more than last year.
