That's the message behind a month-long campaign here in Sioux Falls called "The Big Squeeze".
76 million people in the U-S have been diagnosed with high blood pressure.
It's a contributor to a number of health conditions, including heart attacks, strokes, and kidney failure. Mary Michaels is with the Sioux Falls Health Department. "It's a silent killer there's no real symptoms that you might feel on the outside so numbers are important to get, regular blood pressure checks to know those numbers and to visit with your doctor to see if any kind of treatment might be appropriate."
There are a number of places offering free blood pressure screenings during the month of April, including Get-N-Go, Hy-Vee and Lewis Drug stores.
