Tonight's Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week is Kaylynn Noethlich from Doland High School.
Kaylynn is an over-achiever: She has a 4.08 grade point average.
And if she is successful in her future plans....her name will be a household word.
Kaylynn Noethlich is in her senior year and she is taking it anything but easy.
She has her hands full when it comes to what she is trying to get done in school. "I take personal finance, government, I'm in Bio2, AP Literature, Criminal Justice...that pretty much sums up my class schedule."
And that summation is enough to make a lot of students turn pale.
A lot of these classes that she is taking right now are the literal building blocks for what she plans to do when she goes off to college in the fall. "Well right now...I've decided I am going to go to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. I'm going to get a double major in marketing and finance in their business school."
A double major and then after that, she has her eyes on law school. For those who have had a front row seat to Kaylynn's education, it is no surprise.
Melissa Knox is her science teacher. "Kaylynn is a very determined young lady. If she figures out what she wants to do she's gonna do everything in her power to do it."
And Kaylynn knows exactly what she wants to do once she is finished with law school. "I really want to get a seat in the US Congress. I've always loved politics so much and I got to serve as a legislative page in Pierre and the whole time I was like 'gosh, I want to be sitting here'. "
And for being named our Scholar of the Week, Kaylynn will receive a $100 scholarship from Northern Electric Cooperative, which is a local Touchstone Energy cooperative.
