Update: Missing inmate back in custody

Inmate Mark Fromelt is back in custody Thursday night.

Previous story:

A search is underway for a missing state prison inmate.  

Mark Fromelt left Unit C, the minimum-security unit of the Jameson Annex to the South Dakota State Penitentiary, to go to his work release job this evening but failed to show up at the job site.  

24-year-old Fromelt is white, 5-feet-9 inches tall, and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

When Fromelt was last seen, he was wearing a black and gray colored coat with a light, two-tone hat, blue jeans and tennis shoes.  

He is serving a 6 year sentence out of Minnehaha County for Grand Theft. 

Anyone who sees Fromelt or knows of his whereabouts should contact law enforcement immediately.
