Warm weather comes with a desire for nice-looking cars, and that means car wash locations around Sioux Falls were busy on Saturday.
With a lack of major snowstorms in the forecast, thousands of people stopped by area car washes to hopefully remove the last winter grime and dirt.
At Empire Car Wash on 41st Street, employees were cleaning - inside and out - an average of 42 cars an hour which is more than double a normal day.
"Usually it's just a couple of weeks in March, right when it starts to warm up. People getting that spring fever want to get out and about to do anything that reminds them of summer. It'll drop off in the next week of so," Empire Car Wash Manager Mitch Baartman said.
He says the busyness was in part thanks to the nice weather, but also the loyal customers and the sparkly clean wash they give every car that drives away.
