The National Weather Service is providing more detailed alerts in our area.
Starting today, forecasters are providing more descriptive information.
They hope it will get severe weather information to people faster.
They're also adding words like... catastrophic and significant... to help people understand the damage of the storm. Todd Heitkamp with the National Weather Service tells KSFY News, "What we're looking at is what's the damage going to result in, as far as how strong the wind is going to be and what those winds are going to cause as far as mobile homes to communities-- anything like that. So basically more information to the general public."
