We're used to seeing colleges coaches with fiery tempers. Video of former Indiana head coach Bobby Knight throwing a chair in 1985 is a memorable moment in sports.

But another college coach who was caught on camera showing his temper...has now lost his job because of it.

Rutgers fired Mike Rice after several video clips emerged showing Rice in practice.....yelling profanities at players.....putting his hands and players and shoving them around....even throwing basketballs at players when practice wasn't going well.

Initially Rice was suspended by the school and told to take anger management classes.

But now, the school says Rice can not continue as men's basketball coach.

Rice has issued a statement. "There's no excuse I was wrong - and I want to tell everyone whose believed in me - that I'm deeply sorry for the pain and hardship that I've caused them."

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie says he backs Rice's dismissal and says Rutgers will find a better coach to replace Rice.
