They were expecting to be the target of protestors, but none showed up for an 8th annual conference in Iowa aimed at gathering together gay, lesbian and bi-sexual teen-agers. Those teens came together to discuss how to overcome the pressures of their lifestyle.

Organizer Nate Monson says...while gay issues continue to be a lightning rod in Iowa...progress is being made. "We've come a long way when it comes to policy in Iowa. The civil rights code was amended. We're advancing kind of nationally on these levels of acceptance. But we still have a ways to go. There are still kids who are bullied. Still kids who are homeless. Still kids who are hurting themselves."

The conference also included an address by Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil of India. The world's first openly gay royal.
