Pavilion Spotlight: Amy Grant

Posted: Updated:

Six Grammies and countless hits, and yet Amy Grant has taken time to connect with people in Sioux Falls on a personal level.

"I think when she shows up in front of an audience people just love her and tie right into her because she's a wonderful human being," said former CEO and President of Make-A-Wish South Dakota Mary Olinger.

After meeting at several Make-A-Wish, Olinger has visited Grant at her home in Nashville.

"A delightful person, she's very earthy, she's humble, and she's just an ordinary mother, a mom," said Olinger.

An Aberdeen family also made a connection to Grant through Make-A-Wish. They'll be in attendance with Olinger this Friday night when Grant plays the Washington Pavilion.

"The minute we heard Amy Grant was coming we put our heads together and decided we'd all come to this concert and they'll be sitting in the second row with me," said Olinger.

And, they'll be treated to some of Grant's new music. Her new album "How Mercy Looks From Here" will arrive in stores mid-May.
