Thousands in central Sioux Falls neighborhoods were without power, Saturday afternoon.
Around 3:10 p.m., Xcel re-routed energy from a sub-station and restored power to all 8,500 of the affected customers.
The energy company had a pole that burned near 33rd Street and Poplar which started the large-scale outage.
Reports began coming into the newsroom around 2:00 p.m. reporting power outages along Minnesota Avenue, 41st Street, 69th Street and along Kiwanis Avenue.
Crews were able to isolate the pole and re-route energy within an hour.
