SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether says he understands the frustration of thousands of people who have been left without power, but he wants people to know that crews are working as hard and as fast as they can.
Some 20,000 people in and around Sioux Falls remain without power due to a spring snowstorm. Some people have been without power since Tuesday.
Says Huether, "I know they're losing patience and I certainly respect that."
A Red Cross shelter and warming station will remain open Thursday evening to accommodate people without power. Officials say 12 people stayed at the Red Cross shelter Wednesday night.
