VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota softball's Allie Daly has been named The Summit League Softball Player of the Week in a release by the league on Monday. It is the second career honor for Daly, who previously won the award on April 8.
Daly led the Coyotes to a three-game sweep of Kansas City on Saturday and Sunday that bumped the ‘Yotes to fourth in the Summit League standings and secured their spot in the league tournament. She hit one home run in all three games and also chipped in two doubles and six RBIs while going 5 of 11 (.455) at the plate and slugging 1.455. She leads the league in home runs (13), doubles (16) and RBIs (52), and her home run total is tied for fifth-most in Summit League history while the RBI total is tied for ninth-most.
USD will finish its regular season with a trip to Fargo, N.D., to take on the North Dakota State Bison on Friday (3 p.m.) and Saturday (noon). The conference tournament begins one week later (May 9) and will also be held at NDSU.
