The Sioux City Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the immediate apprehension of Jamal Dean, who is wanted for the attempted murder of a Sioux City Police Officer.

Dean has warrants for his arrest in connection to the April 29 shooting of Sioux City Police Officer Kevin McCormick. McCormick stopped a car that Dean was a passenger in when Dean stepped out of the car and fired upon the officer, according to Sioux City Police.

McCormick was treated for a gunshot wound to his head and has been released from a local hospital. Dean fled the area after the shooting and remains at large.

"Dean is dangerous and is a threat to public safety," said Sioux City Police Chief Doug Young said in a news release.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dean should call 712-279-6960. Dean is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by the public.
