Two area students finalists in Google competition

Posted: Updated:

The artwork of one of two area students could soon grace the front page of Google.

Wednesday, representatives from Google were at St. Michael Elementary School in Sioux Falls to surprise Chole Loving. The 6th grader's art work was chosen as a finalist in the national Doodle for Google competition. One student's work will be selected for the front page of Google next year.

"For us the doodle is so important, it represents kind of the fun aspect of Google and we love to hand over the paint brush once a year to young artists to celebrate their talents," said Melissa Fletcher, a Google representative.

A northwest Iowa girl was also named a finalist. Molly Knobloch is a 6th grader at West Lyon Elementary in Inwood, Iowa.
